Skipper Leadbitter Set to Return at Reading Fri 30th Dec 2011 13:17
Skipper Grant Leadbitter looks set to come back into the Town side when the Blues visit Reading on New Year’s Eve (KO 3pm). The 25-year-old appears the most likely replacement for nine-goal top scorer Keith Andrews, who tore his hamstring at Leicester on Boxing Day, while Town will also be without striker Jason Scotland, also due to a hamstring problem.

Lee Bowyer netted his second goal for Town as the Blues stretched their unbeaten run to three games with a 1-1 draw at Leicester. Michael Chopra had already missed a penalty by the time Bowyer scored in the third minute, Paul Gallagher converting a Foxes spotkick for handball against Jason Scotland in the second half.

Town had been atrocious before the break with the Tykes deservedly two goals in front via Craig Davies, a penalty, and Ricardo Vaz Te. Davies added Barnsley’s third in the closing minutes.
